We left Samui yesterday and took a 30 minute boat ride across to Ko Phag Ngag. On arrival in Ko Phag Ngag we could've been back in India, we were acosted by about 30 people trying to sell us taxi's and hotels. Having not booked one before the ferry we go with the lady who shows a picture of Hut Sun, including a toilet along with toilet brush. It made us chuckle anyway!
We are situated in a really calm and peaceful bay with a pirates 'moon set' bar located on the corner. The Pirates bar is completely out of place here but is really funny as it blasts out trance tunes to absolutely no one is there! saying that there is a party on tonight and I think we'll head down to drink some stupidly cheap whisky. whilst looking out on the calm black sea.
The sand here is soft and white the bay is covered eitherside by rocks and palm trees.
Yesterday afternoon we lazed in our hamocks listening to the waves lapping at the shore. Not feeling up to anything in the evening we sat and read FHM and Cosmopolitan feeling rather at home.
The little girl who lives in our resort is really cute, when we arrived yesterday she kept on getting Steve and I to carry her before she decided to take up residence in our room. It's at times like this that I wish I had learnt Thai as I couldn't comunicate with her other than to get her name!
Today we decided to find Nemo and hired snorkeling equipment from our resort. Unfortunately the water here is really shallow and the only coral we could see was dead. When we swam out a little further there was more coral but the visibility here is rubbish so we saw hardly anything. However a few cool fish made the adventure worthy of our afternoon excersize. We had a comedy time trying to get back in to shore ending up not wanting to take our flippers off as the rocks hurt our feet and not being able to swim as the water was too shallow. We ended up walking backwards and falling over a few times. We managed to escape with just a few grazes on our knees.
The sunset here is beautiful. Steve and I climbed over a load of rocks and watched the pink sun drop in to the water. It was pink due to me wearing my lovely new pink sunnies.
Hiring a bike tomorrow so should be able to find Nemo and check out the Island.
